Happy National Hat Day!
Check out these photos of the man who taught odd Baby Boomer men that hats are cool.
My generation decided before I was born that wearing hats was a square, antiquated practice for old Men who voted for Nixon and wore suits all the time as corporate drones gladly working for The Man.
Instead, starting in the 60s, hippie generation young men became mostly obsessed with their 60s hairstyles. Rather than resemble stodgy old Grandpa, in the 70s many began res...embling grandma.
They went to her beauty salon and got expensive perms with curls and feathered, even dyed hairdos that needed hairspray and shower caps so not to mess that hairdo up.
By the 80s we got mousse and put globs of it into punk rock spiked hairdos or elaborate perms and mullets that got ruined by hats. The term hat head was coined and avoided as though it was Ebola virus
So journey back to the golden age of men's dress fashion, the time before the Vietnam War. Join Bogie and I just for today and wear a real hat with a brim all the way around.
All other headgear is not a hat but a cap or Helmet.
